History

The company was established in 1961 by Harvey J. Cummings in the small Western New York town of Batavia, which is in the center of the prime agricultural area of New York state. From this location the company had proximity to many diversified farming enterprises including dairy, vegetables, grain, orchards, vineyards, livestock and various others.

In 1963, Mr. Cummings teamed up with Robert M. Bricker to form Cummings & Bricker, Inc. The two men split sales responsibilities with Mr. Cummings specializing in feeding, hay handling and other farmstead equipment while Mr. Bricker, a civil engineer, specialized in irrigation and grain handling systems.

In 1978 a second warehouse was built in Carlisle PA. Located in south central Pennsylvania at the intersection of two major interstate highways, Carlisle provides access to all points in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and the Midwest.

Both Mr. Cummings and Mr. Bricker are enjoying retirement. The company is now owned and operated by Harvey Cummings’ sons, Jim and Gene, and their wives Sherry and Lynn.
